Affordable SEO is a staffing and scoping question, not a discount question. Cost falls honestly when the production work is delivered efficiently and the plan is aimed only at terms that carry real demand. It falls dishonestly when the audit, the strategy and the editing get quietly removed. Both produce a smaller invoice. Only one produces results.
Where does the money in an SEO engagement actually go?
Most SEO budgets divide across four kinds of work, and understanding the split is the fastest way to judge whether a quote is cheap or merely small.
| Where the effort goes | What it covers | Shape over time |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy and research | Keyword and intent mapping, competitive assessment, deciding what is winnable | Concentrated at the start, revisited quarterly |
| Technical work | Crawlability, indexation, site structure, page speed, structured data | Front-loaded, then maintenance |
| Content production | Research, writing, editing, publishing, internal linking | Usually the largest ongoing line |
| Authority and off-page | Earned mentions, digital PR, relationship work | Slow, continuous, hardest to rush |
Content production is usually the biggest recurring cost, which is precisely why it is where genuine efficiency has the largest effect — and where the most damaging corners get cut.
How we make the production layer cheaper
Our cost advantage comes from how the work is staffed. Depending on what an engagement needs, content production is delivered by SEO specialists in the Philippines working with AI tooling, or by our in-house writers using the same tools. Measured against hiring the equivalent capability directly in Singapore, that can reduce the cost of the production layer by up to 70%.
That number deserves its qualifications, because an unanchored percentage is a marketing device rather than information.
- It applies to the production layer. Strategy and technical work are not where the saving comes from, and they are not where you should want it to come from.
- The comparator is a Singapore hire. The saving is against employing the same capability locally. Compared with a different agency’s quote it means nothing, because you would be comparing two different scopes.
- “Up to” is doing real work in that sentence. The actual figure depends on what you would otherwise have hired and how much of your engagement is production.
- The tooling accelerates a trained specialist. It does not replace one. We would not ship a page that had no human judgement in it, partly on principle and partly because unedited output fails at being specific enough to rank or be cited.
Kaizenaire Pte Ltd contracts with you under Singapore law and carries responsibility for the output wherever it is produced. The Philippines side is where much of the craft sits; the Singapore side is where the accountability sits. Both are the offer, which is the same model behind our offshoring services.
What should never be cut to hit a price
There is a version of cheap SEO that is simply a smaller amount of good work, and a version that is the same shape as real SEO with the load-bearing parts removed. The second is more common because it is easier to sell.
- The technical audit. Publishing content onto a site that cannot be crawled properly is spending on distribution while the distribution is broken.
- Keyword validation. Without it you get volume aimed at terms nobody searches. In our own category analysis, 97% of the keyword rows in a standard export had no meaningful demand data attached — a plan built on that tail produces activity and nothing else.
- Editing. The difference between a page that gets cited and one that does not is usually specificity, and specificity is added in editing.
- Measurement. If nobody baselines the starting position, nobody can tell later whether the money did anything.
What affordable should mean instead
The most effective way to reduce an SEO budget is not to buy the same plan cheaper. It is to buy a smaller plan aimed better.
Most categories have a handful of terms that carry the demand and a long tail that carries almost none. When we analysed 980 Singapore keywords in our own category, 23 keywords accounted for 77% of all the search volume. A plan that addresses those 23 properly will beat a plan that addresses 400 thinly, and it costs considerably less to run.
So the honest route to affordable SEO is a narrower scope executed fully, rather than a full scope executed thinly. That is a harder proposal to write, because it looks like less work — which it is. It is simply less of the work that was never going to pay.
Why we do not publish a price
Because we have never delivered two identical engagements, and a headline rate would be either meaningless or misleading. A ten-page site in a quiet category and a three-hundred-page site in a contested one are not the same job at different volumes; they are different jobs.
What we will do is scope your situation and quote against that scope, and tell you if the honest answer is that SEO is not the right spend for you. We also offer performance-based contracts where part of our fee is tied to agreed outcomes, which is a more meaningful signal about cost than any published rate.
Frequently asked questions
What makes SEO affordable without making it bad?
Cost comes down honestly in two places: how efficiently the production work is staffed, and how tightly the plan is scoped. It comes down dishonestly by cutting strategy, skipping technical work, or publishing unedited output. The first two are savings; the rest is just a smaller invoice for less value.
Where does most of an SEO budget actually go?
In most engagements the largest single line is content production — research, writing, editing and publishing. Technical work is usually front-loaded and then tapers. Strategy is a smaller share of hours but sets whether the rest is aimed at anything worth reaching.
Does using AI make SEO cheaper?
It makes trained specialists faster, which lowers the cost of the production layer. It does not replace the specialist. Content generated and published without human editing tends to fail at exactly the thing SEO now needs most, which is being specific enough to be worth citing.
Is cheaper SEO always worse?
Not always, but cheap for the wrong reason usually is. A lower price achieved through efficient staffing is genuine. A lower price achieved by removing the audit, the strategy and the editing is a smaller invoice for work that will not move anything.
How do I compare quotes that are wildly different?
Compare scope, not price. Ask each quote what is included, how many hours go to which activity, who does the work, and what happens in month one versus month six. Two quotes that look far apart often describe entirely different amounts of work.
Send us your domain and what you are currently spending. We will tell you what we would do differently and what it would cost, and if we think your budget is better spent elsewhere we will say that instead. See how our delivery model works, message us on WhatsApp, or send an enquiry.
